Custom Domain

The Custom Domain feature allows organizations to personalize the web address (URL) used to access each of their spaces within the Messangi environment. Rather than relying on a default or shared domain, each space contained within an Environment can be accessed through a branded and unique domain name, enhancing brand presence, navigation clarity, and overall user experience.

This feature is a key part of our white-label feature, designed for customers who require a fully branded environment aligned with their visual identity and messaging.

Implementing a custom-branded domain provides several advantages:

• Branded Access URLs: Each Space can be reached via a structured, easy-to-recognize URL such as:
  https://{space-name}.yourdomain.com. That is, provide a seamless and branded access URL for each Space.

  When a Space is created, the {space-name} placeholder in the URL is automatically replaced with the actual name of that Space.

  For example, suppose your organization is a telecom provider named “Eli Package” and you resell our platform to different customers. Once your custom domain is configured by our support team, each of your customer Spaces can be accessed via a unique subdomain under your branded domain:

  • For customer “Luna Bakery”: lunabakery.elipackage.com
  • For customer “Evergreen Fitness”: evergreenfitness.elipackage.com
  • For customer “Nova Dental”: novaldental.elipackage.com

  Each of these URLs would point to a different Space within your environment, allowing you to provide a fully branded and professional experience to your end customers.

• Consistent Branding: Customers maintain full control over the look and feel of the domain used by their users.

• Professional Appearance: Increases credibility and trust with internal teams or end users by aligning with the client’s own domain. Therefore, it builds credibility by using a familiar and trusted URL structure.

There are two domain configuration paths, but only one is recommended and fully supported:

1. ✅ When Messangi Manages the Domain (Recommended)

   When the domain is provisioned and managed by Messangi, we guarantee full platform compatibility and branding flexibility:

   • Each Space automatically receives a dedicated subdomain: https://{space-name}.yourdomain.com
   • The domain is fully configured and maintained by our technical team.
   • Customers benefit from seamless branding, reduced technical effort, and high reliability.

     NOTE

     This is not optional — when Messangi manages the domain, each Space will have a dedicated subdomain.

2. ⚠️ When the Client Provides Their Own Domain (Not Recommended)

   When a customer opts to use a domain they already own, important limitations apply:

   1. No Subdomain Assignment: They will not be able to assign unique subdomains to their individual customers. All users will access the platform using the same shared URL.
   2. No Per-Space Branding: They won’t be able to apply different logos or icons for each customer Space. All customers will see the same branding across the platform.

   Example:

   • Provided Domain: mydomain.com
   • Shared Access URL: cpass.mydomain.com (applies to all their customers)

   This option greatly reduces flexibility and requires the client to manage complex DNS configurations across several services.

🔑 Key Recommendation

Messangi strongly recommends and prioritizes managing the custom domain directly, to:

• Guarantee platform functionality.
• Ensure branding consistency.
• Avoid unnecessary support complexity.
• Provide full subdomain-level configuration.

This approach allows our team to configure and maintain all necessary components fully.

Customers interested in setting up the custom URL feature may initiate the process by submitting a request. Upon receiving it, our Operations team will share a selection of available domain options for the customer to review and choose from.

Only one custom domain can be assigned per owner.
