Effective communication is at the core of the Communications Platform. This section provides a structured guide on creating, managing, and optimizing broadcasts across multiple automations. This section is divided into three key areas: Broadcasts, Automations, and Message Elements, each designed to help users configure their messages efficiently. message channel.
Broadcast
Broadcasts allow businesses to communicate with their audience through various channels. This section explains how to set up and manage Broadcasts using different messaging formats:
- WhatsApp: Meet your contacts where they already are. Connect with your audience through the world's most popular messaging app, combining the intimacy of personal messaging with the power of business-scale communication.
- SMS: The universal broadcast. Send text messages directly to any mobile phone number, appearing instantly in your contacts' native messaging apps. Simple, reliable, and reaches virtually everyone.
- Email: Perfect for richer content. Deliver beautifully formatted HTML emails or simple plain-text messages straight to your contacts' inboxes, ideal for newsletters, detailed updates, and visual storytelling.
- RCS: SMS evolved. Rich Communication Services takes traditional text messaging to the next level with branded experiences, high-resolution images, interactive buttons, and enhanced analytics—all within the native messaging app.
Automations
Unlike traditional messaging, Automations engage users through interactive experiences. This section covers different types of Automations:
- Chatbot: A chatbot is a digital assistant that interacts with users to answer questions and perform actions. Chatbots are commonly used to automate support, guide users through processes, and provide instant responses across broadcasts (SMS & WhatsApp).
- Keyword: Empower your audience to take action. Deploy keyword-based automations that let contacts text simple words to participate, subscribe, enter contests, or access exclusive content—driving brand awareness and two-way engagement.
- Subscription Form: Grow your audience effortlessly. Design attractive web landing pages that make it easy for new users to join your contact list with just a few clicks.
- Polls & Surveys: Listen to your audience at scale. Gather valuable insights, opinions, and feedback on any topic through interactive polls and surveys—turning customer voices into actionable intelligence.
Messages Elements
Each broadcast consists of multiple components that define its effectiveness. This section provides details on the essential elements required for successful broadcast and automation execution:
- Delivery & Recipients: Define when and how messages are sent, including scheduling and automation settings, and manage and segment the audience receiving the Automation messages.
- Message Configuration: Customize messages with dynamic variables to enhance engagement and relevance.
- Summary: Final checkpoint of the broadcast/automation creation flow, where you review all key settings, adjust delivery and tracking parameters, and decide the final state: launch immediately, schedule it, or save it as a draft.
- Keyword (Webhook WhatsApp) : Structure and content of the JSON payloads sent to your webhook when end users interact with a WhatsApp Keyword automation, detailing how different message types are delivered to your application for processing.
- WhatsApp Sender Quality Rating & Status: This section explains how WhatsApp sender Status, Quality Rating, and Tier work together to determine a sender’s eligibility, reputation, and messaging capacity, helping you understand when a sender can be used, how well it is performing, and how many conversations it can initiate.
How to Create a Broadcast
The platform offers multiple delivery mechanisms for engaging audiences of all sizes. They can be accessed through the New Broadcast / Automation option located at the top of the Navigation sidebar on the left, as shown below.
To initiate a New Broadcast / Automation,
- Select New Broadcast / Automation.
- In the pop-up window that follows, enter the Broadcast/Automation's name.
- Select the Broadcast or Automation type you will be creating. You will be taken directly to the configuration steps for the selected Broadcast or Automation.
